In 2012, she received a scholarship for training in Behavioral Activation at the Center for Addictions, Personality, and Emotions Research at the University of Maryland. She was also trained and certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, a method she examined as part of her thesis with parents and their children in Cyprus.

Clinical Training

Her clinical practice encompasses clinical assessment and intervention, both individually and in groups, addressing symptoms of depression, addiction-related issues (smoking, substances, alcohol, gambling, personality disorders, anxiety disorders including panic disorder, problematic behaviors, psychopathic symptoms, and eating disorders.

Scientific Research

Dr. Miltiadou worked as a research scientist at the Developmental Psychopathology Laboratory at the University of Cyprus for 8 years, where she contributed to research programs dealing with behavioral problems and psychopathic traits in children, adolescents, and adults.

Her thesis focused on examining the effectiveness of three therapies for children exhibiting problematic behavior and psychopathic traits throughout elementary schools in Cyprus.

Currently

Since 2018, Dr. Eleni Miltiadou has maintained a private practice as an applied clinical psychologist, offering psychological services tailored to each clinical case. Scientific research has pointed to the efficacy of various types of therapy for specific emotional, cognitive, and behavioral problems. Grounded in the Science-Practitioner theory — the coexistence of knowledge provided by scientific research combined with the bio-psycho-social factors of each patient case — a foundation is provided for more effective therapy.

As an applied psychologist, continuous education and lifelong learning are integral to her profession, as knowledge is constantly evolving in terms of new research results as well as in the practical application and development of effective treatments.
